My Mom and Dad
Here are many photos tracing the lives of my mom and dad. I feel it is a great blessing that there have been so many photos left by my relatives to help bring life to my ancestry.
My Dad's Early Life from 1921 to 1949
Dad was born in 1921 in Chicago, Illinois. His parents were Peter and Mary Porowski, immigrants from Poland. Dad was sent to Europe during World War 2 and served in the signal corps, first in France and later in Germany.
My Mom's Early Life from 1924 to 1949
Mom was born in India in 1924 while her parents, Paul and Marie Dibble, were missionaries there. Her brother Birney Dibble also was born there. The family returned to the U.S. in 1929 and soon settled in Illinois where her dad became a minister.
Mom and Dad's Wedding and a Life Together
In August, 1949 my parents got married in Chicago, Illinois. They lived in several places before settling in Wheaton, Illinois, where we lived for 12 years before moving to Arlington Heights, Illinois, where Dad and Mom lived until Dad died in 1994. Mom lived there until 1999 when she moved out to California to live with us in Santa Ana. The last photo is of her 80th birthday when many friends and family members got together for a great time.
