For me, Canada has an important place in my heart for two reasons. One is because Kathy's relatives live there to this day. Her grandfather Opa and grandmother Oma fled from the Ukraine in 1917 at the beginning of the Bolshevik Revolution. They left everything and lost it all. They arrived in Canada and settled in Leamington, Ontario. where they made a good life for themselves. They have a special place in Kathy's heart. The second reason Canada has a place in my heart is because in my early days I was brought to God through the help of some dear brethren in a small town north of Toronto called Stouffville. God moved in a great way through people like Fred Tomlinson and his family as well as Sandy Robertson and his family. What memories! Land was taken by the government for a proposed airport back in the 1970's (which has never been built!). But our friends were able to rent a large property there and converted and old barn into a meeting place where God moved for many years. And not far from there, on a rugged country road, I proposed to Kathy back in 1977! I could still take you to the very spot :)
