Our 2008 Trip to China!   

In September and October of 2008 Richard and Kathy Porowski had the privilege again to visit China on behalf of Resurrection Life Church. They went to give material and spiritual support to the Caring for China work in Xi'an that Resurrection Life Church is linked with. They also went to encourage many friends and brethren along the way in Beijing, Xi'an, Shanghai and Suzhou.

China is changing at an amazing pace. The Olympics held in Beijing have made a huge impact on the country as well as on the world. No doubt God is not separate from these world events, and is working His great and mysterious will above and beyond what any man or nation can dream possible. God is constantly showing us how He is in control, which also was seen in Richard and Kathy's visit to China.

Many lives were touched during the visit. Though each person is at a different point in their journey of discovering God, each person is so important. The ministry to each person can be as varied as their situations. But in every case, God is glorified and His Kingdom is being furthered in the world.

Caring for China Conference

Once again Richard and Kathy attended the Caring for China conference in Xi'an. Every year in October the people in the organization who live all over China gather together to encourage one another, get updated on what is going on in the work, and find fresh focus for the future. The people involved are tremendous people and wonderful examples of lives dedicated to serving Jesus. We know that a Christian doesn't have to travel half way around the world in order to serve God with all his heart, because we can serve with all our being right where we live. But still, there is something to be admired in these men and women who sacrifice so much to serve the Lord so far away from home.

Lives that have been touched....

There was opportunity to visit many friends and brethren in Beijing, Xi'an, Shanghai and Suzhou. What a joy it was to be with them. Each person has their life story, their heartaches and joys, and their beliefs. Our desire is to speak of Jesus and His love and power to save from sin and sadness to a life of holiness and joy. The first photo is of a church building in Suzhou that was full on a Sunday morning. There is no doubt by many proofs that God is moving in China.

One of the great things about visiting friends in so many places is that they love to show you around the sites where they live. They are proud of their heritage, despite the difficulties and injustice that often exists. Here are a few photos for you to see.
